A strong civil society is essential to enable a dialogue between local authorities and their constituents. In this spirit, as part of IOM's community stabilization activities in Niger, a week of computer training was set up by the NGO Aghirin'man for the 30 youngest members of civil society organizations in Arlit, Niger.
With the help of trainers from the Higher Institute of Technology Arlit, these beneficiaries have learned to work in Word and Excel, skills that will serve them in the internal organization of civil society, and in the management of their activities.
In addition, they can now use their skills when applying for funding, taking into account that COSINN plans to fund small outreach activities conducted by local associations.
The COSINN project, funded by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany (Auswärtiges Amt), aims to contribute to the stabilization of the communities most affected by the loss of income from migration in northern Niger.
